Dev. Diary Two. Project Baba Yaga

Well It's been a while but i'm happy to report that everything is moving along quite well.

As for the details of what is going on? well I can let you know a bit more this time around. The following things are finished or almost complete:

The platformer/platforming part of the game is done minus a few minor bugs i'm sorting out.

level transitions are finished.

The basic combat and power up system is finished.

Basic enemy AI and movement is finished. along with a few of the enemy's you'll encounter early on in the game.

yes I'm nearing that coveted milestone where the focus of the development will shift from making everything necessary to make the game to making the game. If that makes any sense. well I suppose that's about as much as I can tell you for now.

Here's a little look a some of the assets in game. These bits of machinery are all animated in engine with a little bit of math.

Dev. Diary One. Baba Yaga (working tile)

Well what can I say about my current project Baba Yaga ? Not much actually In fact I can say very little so why talk about it at all? Well-- I it might have something to do with the two other dev. diary's on my blog. Two projects that I never finished but developed enough to know two things.
One:  That the first was not fun.
Two: That I should hold off on the second till I finish the third--
that third game is what I'm now working on.

First of what can I tell you? Well It's a platformer It'll be challenging is several ways and it's got a killer story and setting that I'm very excited about and it will be in 720P. You might be wondering how far along the project is-- I can tell you the platforming part of the game is finished but there is so much more to
it that there's still a lot to get done.

Like I said it's too early to tell you much.

Animation backgrounds

Sugar shack interior: this is a piece of background art for the animation project I’m working on. Think of it as a Denny’s that just serves maple syrup. It's drawn in traditional pence and ink and then colored and textured in Photoshop.

Here's another. This time a scenic Canadian vista. This Is the first background seen in a project I'm doing featuring bob and ted.

The royal Canadian mounted police. Beaver division.
